Okay, back to music for a bit.....

Just received some new cds; well, some are new and some a little older.

Shelby Lynne - Identity Crisis - I don't know how to describe this woman's music.  It's not country, pop or really rock.  Maybe alt-country?  Love her voice and her kick in the balls attitude.  "Telephone" is a good song.

Wilshire - New Universe - Good, strong pop record.  The cd even comes with the video for their hit song "Special."

The Best of Taj Mahal - Haven't listened to all of this one yet and am looking forward to hearing it in full.

The Innocence Mission - Small Planes - Beautiful music to soothe the soul.  Peaceful.  Short but good.

The Ink Spots Greatest Hits - Wow..."I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" makes me want to sit back with a glass of whiskey and just float away thinking of that era.

Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below -  Call me naive, but why can't a popular rap album do without the words we all know are prevelant on them.  Heck, you can't play cds like this with kids in the house, or if a white person, out on the road with your windows down - or at least with the volume up.  Someone, please, get Arrested Development back together.

Al Green - I Can't Stop - Doesn't this man just make you glad you woke up alive today?  Good to have him back.

Iron & Wine (Sam Beam) - Our Endless Numbered Days - Nice quiet ballads.  I like Bonnie Prince Billy's Master and Everyone quite a bit more.

Matthew Ryan - Regret Over the Wires - The song Return to Me is similar to Bruce Springsteen's Secret Garden.

Joe Henry - Tiny Voices - Eclectic rock.  For those who like DB's Triage I would suggest this one.  He uses different sounds and snippets.

Has anyone heard of Andrew Bird?  Just head his song "Lull" and fell in love with it.  I'm not familiar with him.

And please accept my apologies if others have recommended any of these albums in the past.
