As I stated earlier concerning BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE:

Yes, this absolutely was the point Moore was trying to make, and I am sorry that you apparently have missed this in your viewing of the documentary. That was the whole point behind showing all of the clips of newscasts, to show how people react to what they are shown on the news.

I am also basing my comments on three seperate media interviews Moore did concerning the documentary. This was also the reason why he included Brian Glassner, a sociologist who wrote the book THE CULTURE OF FEAR, where this is covered in depth. I am reading this book at the moment, and it was also featured in the documentary.

I won't ruin it for every one, but there was a section of the film that showed clips of how young black men are portrayed in the news, and this absolutely affects what the society believes in, or thinks of first whenever they see someone who has been shown as the enemy on the nightly news. Just as there was a short wave of violence against middle eastern people after 9/11.

And while I might have agreed with what Brian Warner said in the film, I sure wouldn't buy any of his discs, because his music sucks --- at least the stuff I have heard.

Ian, where did you get your beliefs?

The mass media absolutely had something to do with it, just as I mentioned earlier. It affects us all, and that is unavoidable at this point.

Peace and Prayers,
