It really doesn't politically, but you had to expect it with all the crap Clinton received for not serving . . . any reasonable republican should be able to admit that Bush received favorable treatment because of his family connections and money. I don't actually begrudge him that at all, I would be sorely tempted to keep my son out of a war, if I could and if he would, go along with it. I would hope you understand the hypocrisy of those on the right who are shocked and appalled that Bush's military record is/was being used as a campaign strategy against him, it's their strategy come back to bite'em (republicans) in the arse.

Now, factually the difference is there actually is evidence that seems to lend credence to the opinion that Bush took his attendance requirements lightly, again I'm not saying that's what makes him a poor president in my eyes, but it is, what it is. Now, where is the evidence Kerry is lying about his service or did not earn his medals. So far all we have are witnesses whose credibility is minimal at best. For clarity, this is not a pro-Kerry, anti-Bush ad, I'm just discussing another negative campaign where mud is slung and precious few substantive issues are discussed or debated. If the crap both sides dish out doesn't turn us off from either major party candidate, well we deserve exactly the governement we have . . .
