How have these numbers changed over the years? It looks to me that the percentage of the unemployed is lower than for the bulk of the Clinton boom years. The uninsured hasn't changed much either has it? How many of the uninsured are in that position by choice? Consider the uninsured in the age group of 20-35. How many uninsured in that age group have discreationary spending for celphones, internet access and whatever else they place more importance on than health insurance? Are we including illeagle aliens in those figures as well?
I have a close friend who complains that because of Bush and what he's done to the economy, she and her husband who are retired, can't afford life insurance. Yet, they own a $150,000 dollar RV. In a lot of these cases it comes down to priorities.
