In your mind, exactly what defines "socialized medicine"?
Government subsidized and controlled. As Eugene commented earlier we are almost there with the HMO's because you see the control of the insurance companies over medical procedures. It's similar but not quite the same because it will no longer be the insurance companies but the US governement :(
