"Now this is not good news for the Navajo girls but it makes me wonder about the U.S. military's fondness for using U235- depleted uranium in shells and bullets. As we scatter uranium about in this way, are we setting up a long-term female cancer epidemic in Iraq and Afghanistan?"
Seems plausible Dave, but I have to ask myself if I were an Afghan or Iraqi female living in a Muslim society which I would prefer...the slight possibility that I might be contaminated by uranium in exchange for the freedom to be recognized as a human being with rights equal to everyone else, or the certainty that the rest of my life will be lived as not even a secondary citizen with no rights and no freedom whatsoever, under the total control of the men of my society in what amounts to nothing short of medieval slavery.
I know what I'd pick.
