There is a film called "Niagara Niagara" That stars Henry Thomas and Robin Tunney and came out in 1997. I rented it because at the time I was smitten with Robin Tunney.
Its a small but really good film about two outsiders, one by choice (he's a small time thief/loner), the other because of circumstance (she has Tourette's syndrome ) who end up together on a road trip to Toronto.
Funny, violent and unpredictable. Very hard to find but if you do see it its worth the effort.
