Recently, I've been burning a lot of old VHS tapes of my daughter's first few years and other family moments to DVD. I purchased a Broksonic DVD-RW Recorder and VCR at BJ's Wholesale Club for under $200. I'm not really comfortable with using my computer for technical stuff so this stand alone unit has been great.I have it hooked up to a television as it also can be used as a DVD/VHS player. I imagine there are computer programs that would provide quicker copying but for the Luddites out there, this works well. I must add that I copied our original high 8 video tapes to VHS prior to the conversion to DVD. There probably is a direct way to do it but I never explored it. If I can figure this out, anyone can.
