Dan - no, I haven't read Wilkerson's comments. I will though when I get a chance.

I made the comment about the Sudan, not to deflect - but simply to make the point that not only do I feel it was time to end SH's brutal regime - but that we have a responsibilty to be involved to stop massacres and genocides in other regions of the world too. By we, I mean I multi-national force, as unrealistic as that may be.

From what I have read, if SH had let the UN Inspectors have "all access" and had cooperated with the UN, the invasion of Iraq would never have happened. As far as the 23,000 estimated Iraqi civilians killed,  the intent was not to have 23,000  innocent deaths to end SH's tyrannical regime and to hunt for WMD -- many of those people have been murdered by the insurgents.
