I would have to agree with you there BFF. What would it prove? If you had an independent study it would find
1. 30 years of dancing around a known problem using possible funding for other things
2. A mayor who refused to evacuate his people even after the order had been given
3. A Governor who did not react when pressed that help could be had. This would be the interesting investigation
4. A president who did react when seeing the ineptness of #2 and #3
5. An overloaded agency FEMA seen for it's ineffectiveness.
A better question is what did we get out of the 911 commission? Nothing but partisan finger pointing mainly by the Democrats. If you put any politician on the comittee you can expect anything but more of the same. I mean how hard would it to give a blow by blow of what happened? If you put in professional non partisan investigators it would happen pretty fucking quick. And I'll bet there would be plenty of damage on all the parties and FEMA.
