You are absolutely right Pat - the blame is not GW's alone. But looking at the larger picture - doesn't the level of inaction and ineptitude on the part of the fed govt. (and state govts.) say a lot about his leadership over the past few years since 9-11?
I would think it would serve to show that Homeland Security is not working. The fact that we have not had another attack is merely luck I would say. I think it points to a lot of things wrong with the government. His delayed reaction would be a leadership flaw. If we don't know blow by blow why this happened then it will happen again. Somehow I see us not learning from this and just turn it into a partison polical circus.

He transformed the govt under the guise of making America safe - spent many billions of dollars doing it - and look what it got us. Like it or not Pat - GW is the face of this new terror fighting govt - and if you're going to take credit for the sunshine - you gotta take credit for the rain.
Remember it was not him who suggested Homeland Security(Lieberman I think it was) like that matters at all. It is obvious with his reaction the the illegal alien situation that he is not minding the store on the home front.
