I take him at his word.  Especially if he contacted Scotland Yard about it beforehand.  His history of campaigning against child porn also points to someone who is concerned about and active in eliminating child porn on the interenet.  Hopefully if the facts are straight and Pete did, indeed, partake in child porn for research, then I hope it's front page news like the allegations are today.
