Pat/Eric - I'd like your perspective - is the dem's loss of power/credibility due to the fact that substantive campaign finance reform has failed to pass regardless of either parties 'initiatives'?  The dem's are, after all,  the 'people's party' - aren't they caught holding the bag - when it comes to the conflict of 'being for the folks' vs 'being elected no matter what (special interests)'?

For the record, I don't think we're safer. anymore than this board is safer from some asshole like Buford or me for that matter...the nature of terror is (as Mr. Harlin would surely tell you) suspense and the fear of the unknown - when, oh when will it happen again?
