A couple of things have been bothering me these past few days. The first has to do with that so-called "liberal media" claim by conservatives. It seems to me this is pure propaganda because of what we see going on in Iraq. The majority of people want to see the UN given time to complete their inspections. But no one in the media is really reporting that as hard as they should be. Secondly, before today, the major media outlets were not giving the anti-war protests much coverage at all. Why is this?Additionally, most people agree that Iraq is not as big of a concern as North Korea, but still Bush, Cheney et al keep pushing a war with Iraq.Which leads me to wonder: does the media want a war? Do the current members of the media want an opportunity to report a war? And if anyone doubts, just look at the current cable news channels. MSNBC is almost "Countdown Iraq" 24-7. The same with FoxNews and CNN. Where is the objective dissent on this issue? It is like the media want their own baptism by fire so they can feel whole. The other issue is that of the right hijacking MLK JR's speech where he said he wanted his daughters to be judged by the content of their character, not skin color. The right has been hijacking this speech when it comes to the recent Michigan State court case. MLK meant something quite different than how the right is portraying it. It is clear that it is meant in true equality and not how things are today in American society.. I find it quite sad the right can do such a thing and not even realize how empty such words are to those who have a clearer understanding of the meaning of MLK's words. Best to all, EEE
