1986. 21 years old. Way into music. I remember being caught by the vocals on WTTB. It was all over the local radio.
The album played endlessly that year. It was more to me than an excellent album. I also remember being very taken by the fact that each track was a fully realized story, and digging on the fact that the characters on the album were a bit sleazy. The suburbanite in me really took to the dope dealers and tone that the album created. "Swallowed By The Cracks" and "River's Gonna Rise" both stick out as tracks that hit me hard.
My ears and heart have always been in tune with passion, especially in the vocals.
Its as moving an album today, for me, as it was when I was 21.
