George W. Bush is our most phony president. There's no question about that. His whole presidency has been smoke and mirrors. One big magic trick, a grand illusion. He stands for nothing, says whatever his handlers tell him to say at given moment and pretty much is nothing more than a carnival barker. He's spineless, gutless, greedy, and from what we can tell, none too bright. I wouldn't call him the P.T. Barnum of politics, that would be reserved for someone like Karl Rove, but his presidency does certainly operate on the old David Hannum quote "There's a sucker born every minute."

In fact this whole charade has been adopted by the Republican party selling nonsensical schemes to ban gay marriage or end abortion that they neither care to see or believe will ever come to fruition but buys them votes from the people they prey on...obviously mainly Christians. I'm not saying every Republican politician is scamming the general public with this nonsense, some are likely just suckers along for the ride that really think these items are the real deal on the Republican agenda. The leaders in the party care not a hoot for this stuff and have as much interest in banning gay marriage or ending abortion as Hillary Clinton.
