Worldwide pacifism? What? I'd say Andrea is correct that pacifism had more of a hold on the world back then. Anyway, you do know it was conservatives that did not want us to get involved with WWII...it was the Democrats that wanted to fight...see back then Conservatives really were conservative and didn't believe in getting involved in conflicts outside of the United States unless we absolutely had too or we were attacked.
