If only we had such 20/20 vision.... Unfortunately we as a nation continue to be "blessed" with such lousy leaders.
Seeing how our intelligence community knew about these and other terrorist groups then, I wonder why it is that we didn't pre-emptively strike? After the Cole was bombed, we should have taken Afghanistan out - we knew it was Al Queda.
Me being against the current "attack now" approach in Iraq does not make me a dove. When the time is right, watching a powerful military stomp the bad guys is a beautiful thing. I loved it when Israel blased Iraq's nuke reactor, and chuckle every time they shoot some rockets up Arafat's bunghole.
Your attempts to portray Dumbya and his chickenhawk administration as brave forward thinkers is laughable. This is the same cast of characters that shipped Saddam more chemical weapons after he started dropping them on the Kurds. This is essentially the same lot that wussed out the last time we went to war in the desert, and left all the groups that could have forced a regime change in Baghdad on their own. And I won't even get into the oil dealings with Iraq AFTER the embargo was put into place.
If we go into Iraq without a huge coalition, it is going to be nothing but bad. It won't be a problem taking out Iraq, but we have no real plan for anything after that. Meanwhile the hatred in the Muslim world toward the western world, and the US in particular, will grow like the worst cancer.
