yeah, i caught a game there at that frighteningly chilly stadium...

1984. Rode out on the Niner's team plane, a fairly awe-struck 16 year old, chatting with Professor Walsh, Mr. Montana, Hacksaw, Ronnie, Bubba, Eddie D and the gang. still have a legal pad with all their autographs on it...wonder what someone would pay for that?

hung out on the sidelines before the game, ruining my fresh new Nikes in the not-quite-frozen muck...then to the stands, to watch the whupping. Niners up by a truckload by halftime, so i strolled the ramps and some gracious Brownie-lovers smoked me out but good. man, they were awful that year but the fans were still out in droves, to make the scene, yell and drink a lot, and just have a good time, fuggit. great folks.

Niners were damn near unbeatable that year, only loss 20-17 to the Steelers.
