After today, I don't know what has happened to this country.I can't believe the US Congress has given Bush the authority that it has now done. I think when we look back on this day in twenty years, we will be just as disgusted as the era of Joe McCarthy. Whether one is a liberal, conservative, Democrat or Republican, Harry Reid is right: what was done today is clearly unconstitutional. Personally, I think it should be an impeachable offense for any legislature to write a law that is clearly a violation of the US Constitution.What is even more disgusting is last week or so, NBC reporter Dick Gregory asked the Torturer in Chief how he would feel if a US soldier was captured, held in secret, questioned in secret, charged in secret and tried in secret without ever seeing the evidence of his suspected crimes and this supposed leader of the free world - you know, the country supposedly that promotes democracy - avoided the question. Disgusting.
