Unfortunately, our courts have a long history of supporting the executive and legislative branches in times of war in in the face of obviously unconstitutional laws or executive orders.

It involved the prosecution — there were more than 2,000 in the lower federal courts — of those who opposed our efforts in World War I and did such things as print brochures and newsletters encouraging resistance to the draft.
