In the Buddhist tradition human life is so precious and hard to attain that it is like a turtle rising from the bottom of the sea and hoping to surface in the middle of a ring of a lifebuoy. It is that hard, and who would want to take it away if all that lies ahead is indescribable torment and endless rebirth in lower realms. It reminds me of that saying -"if you always think what you've always thought then you'll always do what you've always done; if you always do what you've always done then you'll always get what you've always gotten"...something on this hellish planet has to change and it has to happen in our hearts we have to take that risk.
