He only had one term as Mayor (Four year term - recently expanded to Six). Don't remember who he ran against, but Cleveland has an open primary and the top two, no matter what party, are in the general. Cleveland has always been a democratic stronghold, and his near west side district just loves his populist politics. He runs an old style door to door campaign, and he always has someone from the office reply to phone calls and constituant issues in a timely manner. In other words, he takes care of his people - that's what gets him re-elected.
