Icon Re: Texas Governor mandates vaccine

The difference between this vaccination and the others (mumps, measles, etc) is that the others are airborne diseases and therefor more easily contracted. Also this vaccine is only for 2 (those 2 are the cancer causing ones) of the 7 or so papillomaviruses and are only effective for 70% of the recipients. Not that these reasons aren't valid but it seems to me one would like to have the vaccine totally proven to be safe before "mandating" their use especially when the governor is pals with one of the drug company's three lobbyists in Texas,  Mike Toomey, Perry's former chief of staff. They are trying really hard to make one seem uncaring if you are not for this drug. The drug has been massively advertised over the last 4 months, perhaps as a precursor to this. Now Florida has people writing a bill to make the vaccine mandatory here as well. Like GM said, it is about MONEY.
