I haven't heard the new one. I have a couple of NIN's, mainly because Trent tapped the talents of Adrian Belew to add some weedly weedly and some doodly doodly guitar on Downward Spiral and Fragil.
It's really not my cup of tea either. Too industrial and dark. ( and sometimes very repetitive )
