Excellent article, relatively easy to follow and knew exactly where it was going. I couldn't help but wonder as I read, though: What has bred such perennially high levels of fanaticism in the Middle East? Is it the heat???And another thing... How tragically ironic is it that that same fanaticism was able to be funded and supported to renewed and heightened levels of power and influence by the discovery of all that oil back in 1973? Oil which the US and the rest of the world had come to depend on?? It's all so fucked up...Times like these I always have to remind myself, "David, there's nothing more funny than carpet bombing."
