Diplomacy with whom? Please fill me in on where our diplomacy failed and what else we could have done to satisfy you that military might was the only thing saddam was going to ever understand. The inspections were a joke in case you didn't realize. Is there anyone out there who still believes that we could have negotiated an outcome with saddam? Jeff?
My response about Rumsfeld showing some leadership was probably more directed at the notion that the previous administration did nothing without focus group polling and then only acted if they were sure it was in their candidates, not the country's best interest.
I watched The Piano a few weeks ago and was left with the same feelings I had after watching Shindlers List. I was moved by the courage of those who fought desperately for their lives as well as the courage of those who risked their lives for total strangers that they might live. Don't any of you who disapprove of the war see any similarities between the actions of Hitler and those of Saddam?
Is it a better approach to not risk anything at all for fear of upsetting our comfortable lives? If the people saddam has murdered over the years could rise up out of their graves and take up arms whose side do you think they would stand with? Whose side are you on?
