I just wanted to say I was not trying to tell anybody how to vote with that post and was just sort of rambling about how I fell into the Edwards camp. On Thanksgiving my dad did something he pretty much never does, he asked me who I might vote for in the primary. My dad is kind of old fashioned about that kind of thing and he has always believed that a person's vote is his/her own private thing so I was sort of surprised by the question. We talk politics but he never really asks me how I'm going to vote. I think he gets a feel for where I'm at but does not want to push me in any direction. The fact that he asked me that sort of points to how confusing, I think anyway, this election is. He also told me who he liked which was also unusual. He's always been a Democrat so I know he votes Democrat.Anyway, so I told him I was going with Edwards. He looked a little displeased by that to tell you the truth...ahh...I got the sense Edwards does not do much for him. I do think he thinks that these guys have become too wishy-washy touchy-feely and they are not firm enough with their stands on issues and that they follow the public rather than doing what they are supposed to be doing...which is leading...which is why they call them leaders. I would say that's a point that's hard to argue. So, he told me he was going with Biden. That sort of made sense to me because I could see my dad liking the way Biden speaks and delivers his message. I pointed out that Biden was way back in the polls and he laughed and said "Really, you know the polls are for the papers and tv, it's votes that elect somebody."Fair enough.
