I've heard this comparison a lot over the past 20 years. I'm a huge fan of both bands but, with the exception of Marillion's song "Grendel" (which owes a lot to Genesis' "Supper's Ready"), I just don't hear the similarities between these two bands. Gabriel was a better sing than Fish but, as a whole, Marillion were better musicians.
