IATSE can see quite clearly is that this is but a first battle in an industry-wide, if not nationwide war
against all unions. Reagan fired the first shot when he shut down the air traffic controllers strike, and
crushed, then butchered the union. The AMPTP is doing their damnedest to do their little bit for
corporate hegemony. Also, actors are fond of writers, in a pat-on-the-head sort of ruffle the hair of
little brother way. Writers give them something to say, sometimes really quite well.
