I noticed the more overt Christian tones, and it did bother me. A lot of his earlier stuff is spiritual with being directly Christian, so when I heard the lines about the baby Jesus on the first song, I sat up and said "Whoa. I didn't sign up for this."

But that isn't all. I just feel like he's kind of lost the plot since Underneath. What You Whispered was my least favorite DW album, until this one--it's the only one I've listened to a couple of times and filed away.

Caught him live in SF a few weeks ago, thinking the experience would redeem the new songs for me, but it didn't. I've seen him probably ten times, and came away from each other show moved. This time, eh. Unless his next release really blows me away, I think I'll skip his next local show and put Home Again on the stereo instead.
