I'm watching the flick "Pride" on Showtime (it's about a black man who starts an urban swim team for black youth - it's pretty good) and it's peppered with songs from the seventies. So it kind of got me thinking about music by decade. For example, I guess we could say music from the 50's was sort about innocence and happiness and all was good with the world, music from the 60's was about youth and growing up with authority, music from the seventies was kind of about nothing and feeling good, music from the 80's about good ole me, music from the 90's was kind of angry and distrustful, so what is music in the 2000's about? What's the overarching theme about this decade?
