The older I get, the more I realize many important things about life come down to what I call the human connection. So, with that, who have you loved?My first one was a sweet little red head back in second grade. In third grade I couldn't wait to see her climb on to the bus and she was the first to cause the butterflies in my stomach.The second was a young girl who married one of my best friends. They should have stayed married for life, but his infidelities ended that. He and I are still great friends, while she married a controlling husband, costing us all contact.The third was a woman in college. I fell so fast and hard for her that it frightened her away. I couldn't help it and after college, it showed me the real attraction of a good bottle of whiskey when it comes to drowning one's sorrows.The last one, and where I've come to realize things do happen for a reason, is my wife. We met in a bizarre girl chasing boy situation that I am eternally grateful for (I was chasing one woman, she was chasing me and a great friend was chasing her). With her, I have been fortunate to understand what love is about and how the fear of losing the ones we love makes us work so hard to keep it.Others?
