4. When the government thinks it needs to be able provide all sorts of entitlements especially health care when it is proven that people grow more with hand-up instead of hand-out. Is there anything wrong with Self-Reliance or is the majority not capable of being Self-Reliant.

There are sections of our population who have a more difficult time being self reliant, it is simply a fact, always will be. A nation shall be judged by the way it treats the least of them. ( hmmmm, who said that ? )

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the capacity or opportunity to become a high wage earner.

The studies I have seen on any social health care system in any other country seem to indicate that these programs aren't free, so how can it be a hand out ?

God forbid you or your family be wiped out finacially by one unexpected turn of events in a health situation.
