Ok, this is a strange story. I'll admit.

I've been PMing on here with Nancy about the sad story of my girlfriend's recent loss of her cat of 23 years. Now understand, that this was THE perfect cat. He had it all as far as personality...he was totally my buddy and just loved to hang out with me no matter what I did. And up till a couple years ago (when he entered my life) I was basically just a dog guy. But this cat totally won me over.

Anyway he died of a heart attack we think. Now we had already gotten a new kitten a couple months back and she's simply insane with energy. My gf's cat Max was old but he ruled the house and he taught her well how to be a cat.

I'm of the opinion though that she killed him by playing too hard with him. He would'nt stop playing with her and I think he just pushed it a little too hard.

Anyway, my mom is a cat lady and she's pretty happy that I'm now a cat man. She told me today that my Dad discovered a litter of kittens on one of our farms and asked if I would take them.

I said I would because when I was a young tough guy, (a whole other story) an abandoned puppy saved me from a rattlesnack bite. At that point, I became helpless against turning down any animal in need. But I've got a ton of them already.

Now my mom says that there may be 5 kittens on one of the farms and wants me to take them and I will. But I wonder why people don't just pay up the 5 bucks that the local humane society charges to get their cats fixed?

I have enough room and will take them in and it will please my gf immeasureably to have all kinds of kittens running around given her current state of mourning over the loss of her great cat that has been with her for most of her life, but jeez. What did I just sign up for?
