...but since I'm often childish on this board I probably have no right to say anything.

I think Palin is way out of her element at this point but like Dubya and his "frat boy have a beer with ya and slap you on the back" thing, she has that "thing" where people just like her because she seems like somebody you would run into at the grocery store or PTA meeting. This will win her voters from the "base" (which McCain needed) but her stance on a lot of issues will give her NO CHANCE IN HELL of winning votes from a lot of independents or Democrats. The thing is McCain choosing her has totally fired up the "red state base" but disgusted a lot of other people too. Even moderate Republicans think she stinks. It's hilarious that she is now "Sarah Palin Superstar" to the "conservative base" and some are even rooting for McCain to lose so Palin can run for president against Obama in 2012! I would have thought that the Republicans had enough of this style of idiot politician with George W. Bush but no...now they have another one, this time a female, and they love her! Why? Well, because she is a hillbilly wet dream! Pentacostal, anti-abortion, lifetime NRA, pistol packin' mama, with a knocked up underage daughter, that goes around spouting that everything her party wants to do is somehow an act of God. She's from one of the most corrupt "red states" (if not the most corrupt) and it just so happens to be oil rich Alaska. That's great for those that want to continue and or expand upon Cheney's secret energy policy. This is NOT what anybody living in this century should want anywhere near the White House.

I think this pick has destroyed McCain's campaign and what I wonder about is if this was not what the Republicans wanted all along. Make Obama a Jimmy Carter for 4 years and then trot out maybe a Palin-Romney ticket in 2012. Lose the battle but win the war and forever vanquish the Clintons.
