I think Biden hurt himself by invoking his deceased wife and his kids' medical problems as a result of the auto accident. Hard to tell if he was truly choked up or not, but it looked like a deliberate attempt to counter Palin's special needs baby and tough-to-raise-a-family routine. She was well rehearsed, even to the point of answering the wrong questions with the wrong answers. Biden gave her too much of a pass on that, I thought. The whole Heartland/Main Street/Hockey Mom/Jane Sixpack routine is getting really old, from both sides. Politicians continue to pander to the lowest common denominator and think that everyone is as uninformed and unable to think as the American-idol watching "heartland" folks, which is why we've got an abomination of a "bailout bill" pending vote by the house tomorrow.BTW, did the Senate's vote count? The get out of jail free pass is a House Resolution, isn't the house supposed to vote first, or have I totally forgotten my Civics lessons?
