David,

Did you ever think that your AARP card would arrive before the follow-up to Boomtown?

I understand the fear of the inevitable "sophomore slump" but enough already. Actually, good things are worth waiting for, and waiting for, and...

Truthfully, I'm just happy that you guys are collaborating, and will be within the same area code in the near future. The clarity of a local call, as we all know, is very clear, and it can do wonders for the creative process.

If you're up for a few questions, I have a few:

1. Could you envision a tour to promote the album? 2. During the intervening years, have you and DR received much interest from record companies for a follow-up? 3. Does A & M/Interscope have rights to a follow-up, and if so, have you had any conversations over the years with Jimmy Iovine? I imagine you have crossed paths. I don't mean to pry and feel free to let these go unanswered if you're at all uncomfortable with them.

On a related note, Rolling Stone published a list a year or so ago and you guys made the top 10 of "One Album Wonders":

1. Jeff Buckley – Grace 2. Sex Pistols – Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols 3. The Modern Lovers – The Modern Lovers 4. Mother Love Bone – Apple 5. The La’s – The La’s 6. Derek & The Dominoes – Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs 7. Young Marble Giants – Colassal Youth 8. Black Star – Mos Def and Talib Kweli Are Black Star 9. Propellerheads – Decksandrumsandrockandroll 10. David and David – Boomtown

That's pretty good company, David.

When the album does get released, you know we'll still be here. I mean, where else would we go? No other self-respecting music website would have us!
