[IMHO] If we, the people, were to situate 25 or 50 of the most incredibly intellectual, benevolent, decent, munificent, good-&-well-intended & windswept & imaginative & years-proven-openhanded citizens in [full-disclosure] concert on a panel … and charge them to be in due charge (while remaining humbled by the vital office), …in a decade EARTH would be...okay. Finally a place that cartoon aliens woun’t make a shunful wide birth avoidance maneuver around as a regularity of erudite outer space conduct, a place that certain long-enduring Native American cultures and Oceania Aboriginal tribespeople and way, way, back early, early, woodspersons of Gaelic culture, et al., would learn to treasure again. But then, …who’d choose the panel? Yinford or Yangley? The bitter man who calls himself God’s better man …or the confirmed friend of humanity who’s walked barefoot upon the land of the enslaved and free, or your beloved professor or his favorite student … or your entrusted brother who once was Scrooged before his run-in with the ghosts of Christmases past, future, and present tense baby? Neil Young? Bruuce? Peter Gabriel? Robin Williams? Morgan Freeman? Oprah Winfrey? Paul McCartney? Maya Lin? Thomas Dart? Pre-rock-star-fame Al Gore? Lois Griffin? Johnny Depp? Gallagher? LaDonna Harris? The Dalai Lama? Ringo Starr? Howard Zinn, David or.. Andrea Baerwald? Markos Moulitsas Zuniga, Richard Bach, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, F. Paul Wilson, Paulo Coelho, Deepak Chopra, Rudolfo Anaya, Al Franken, Arianna Huffington, Jimmy Carter, DL Hughley, Gary Shandling, Jack Nicholson, Christopher Walken, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Matt Cameron, Eddie Vedder, Elmore Leonard, Laura Clawson, George Clooney, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, the pissed-off...but not pissed on Ghost of George Carlin, Cornel West, Wesley Clark unchained, Kevin Costner, Danny Glover, Clint Eastwood? I know these choices are mostly celebrity sorts but that’s who’s poppin’ to mind, no doubt there are more literary and academic top tenners, Sean Penn on a roll, well… Jon Stewart (certainly, even if all my other picks are out in left field), my friend Andy, and this lady we used to know at spin class who’s been well around the block many a time and just has this glow about her…wet or dry.…The Ghosts of John Lennon & Martin Luther King, Jr. or Joan of Arc (nah, probably not), or Mohandas Gandhi or Harriet Tubman or George Harrison or Mary Magdalene or uh…Honest Abe or Lillian Smith or Steven Biko or Sacagawea or Eleanor Roosevelt or Highest Jor-El & his goodly son, Superman, Locke, Neitzsche, Tolstoy, Goethe, Huey Newton, Squanto, Ferlinghetti, or Isaac Newton or Gandolf or Socrates or Leonardo da Vinci or Albert Einstein or Ralph Waldo Emerson or Frank Capra or Jon Turteltaub or Ron Howard or Martin Scorsese, Charles Dickens or Walt Whitman or Crazy Horse or Bruce Lee or Bob Marley …or Vonnegut?
…but then, …it’s all just a lota anti-idealistic claptrap, innit?. This is Earth; & we don’t play dat shit, beotch!
...eeooops
figured it was a given. …but with the evolution of this dbly board…almost feel I need’ta
