As a young adult I worked in an automobile factory, obviously most employees were UAW members.
The workers were ridiculous, refusing to do work at times, verbally abusive to managers, outrageous
holidays, insurance coverage, etc.... That being said, it was clear that the management would abuse
the employees, ie working hours to suit their needs only, without the union. Both sides were "bad," but
I would have to say that the union was more unreasonable IMO.The auto industry killed itself with their complete lack of ability to compete with
Japanese/Chinese/Korean importers.
