Patti Smith, Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, John Cale, Neil Young, Robert Plant: all making terrific music into their 60's. In Cohen's case into his 80's it appears.
I think it has more to do with what an artist has to say as we get older and some of these artists have created songs that reflect the changes in the way we see the world.
Bruce Springsteen, sadly, has not done that. I no longer find his stuff very interseting, musically or lyrically.
