- First year of college - I'd approach a few things differently.
- Living overseas for three years - I'd actually have done a little bit less. Less travel, more
saving
money.
- Walking to school with my sister. - In retrospect, I could be really cruel to her (perhaps a
result of
being small and feeling a bit powerless among my own friends). I wish I had been more supportive
of her.
- Basketball - I was a point guard for our high school team. Wish I'd shot a little more,
especially
before an ankle injury ended the last season 10 games early.
Good stuff:
- I'd like to have college graduation day back again. That was a great feeling.
- I'd like to play with the Dallas-area Pat Metheny Tribute band that we had for fun a few years
ago.
We could really get going on that stuff . . . and I got to sing! It was a real rush playing with the main
guitar player. He was fantastic. (Driving in from Houston for a night rehearsal and driving back the
same evening is an experience that I'd not like to repeat, though).
- I'd like to recapture the spine-tingling feeling I had playing Sibelius' 2nd Symphony with the
Music
In May orchestra back in 1987. We didn't quite get it right at the concert, but there were some
moments in the rehearsal that were as powerful as any feeling I've ever felt in my life. In fact,
moreso. Nothing else compared to that, not even the birth of our children. It was pure elation that
I can't even begin to describe.Oh, and I'd REALLY like to have back the time I passed on seeing Kevin Gilbert on his small tour
behind Thud because I was few hours away. A major regret.
