Hi Kelly!
I'd like to second what Maddog said. Music is NO subsitute for peoples. 16's tough, because all you get is advice which can often sound an awful lot like marching orders. After looking through the previous posts and my CD's, this (in no particular order) is what I have to share...
1) Born for Love - DB - I'm not putting this first to be a kiss-ass. I have, through the randomness of the world and my own knuckleheadedness (that oughta be a word) at times been forced to ask, 'Why do I put up with this? What the hell am I here for?' Sometimes when I think I have it all figured out, I'm forced to ask myself those questions all over again in light of something else I hadn't foreseen. Anyway, DB wrote a nice answer (it's got music, too). It's also hard to misinterpret - I especially like that.
2 - 2.5) Throw It Away/Down Here Below - Abbey Lincoln - Abbey makes her points expressively, intelligently, with class and there's no scat.
3) When It's Raining - The Samples. Idunno - it's sorta like Spongebob - moronically optimistic.
4) Inside - Moby - this is my favorite jogging song - it's got a peaceful pace and no words (they're not always fitting).
5) Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye - Cole Porter - if feeling sad about someone makes you admit it and thereby allows you to feel better.
Best of wishes for you and your girl.
