Even in my former life of being a conservative, I can't imagine I would've supported this vilest man. It's nothing short of depressing. I have a sister I haven't spoken with since before the election because apparently, I'm the enemy. She consumes a
steady diet of conservative media so there's no reaching her. Trump* can say the most outrageous, disgusting thing but as long as she and others
are able to tune into Fox and have them normalize his words for her it's all good. I'm tempted at times to disassociate myself (I'm speaking mainly of Facebook connections) from those who are still supportive of this disaster of a
presidency but I hang onto them with hope that I will be able to plant a seed or two along the way and cause them to see the world through a
different pair of eyes; much like you all did here for me a dozen or more years ago. I sorta feel like I'm an outlier in that regard, though. And to be
honest, leaving conservatism behind was one of the most freeing things I've ever done -- to not have to try and defend it any longer. Trump* was right when he said he could step out onto 5th Ave, shoot someone, and still have his supporters. I know several of those people.
There's an alternate universe that came to life with social media where people's darkest, ugliest thoughts and beliefs can find company and be
encouraged. I don't know how this ends but what we're living right now is beyond anything I could've imagined just a few years ago. I'm worried.Kevin ghttp://onekgguy.blogspot.com
