Well, the big issue I see with your post, Peter, is you put "Values" and
"Trump" in the title and those two things really do not go together. So, I would like to hear from Pat what exactly he likes about Trump. I just
want to understand what exactly it is that somebody finds appealing about
him...because I can't find anything...I mean really nothing. I should probably not bring this up here but I was meeting with a client
recently and I do not bring up politics while working because of how quickly
it can turn into a train wreck but this guy said to me "I love Trump and
what he is doing!" and I believe it was to see what I would say and it went
like this...Client: I love Trump and what he is doing!Me: Really? What parts?Client: Everything! The guy is great!Me: Yes, but I mean there must be things you really like you can identify.Client: Yes, everything. Me: So, you mean things like how he destroyed the CFPB?Client: What?Me: I mean that thing in Helsinki, how about that, like the part where he
said Putin had a great idea that we could turn over Mike McFaul to the
Russians to be interrogated...you loved that?Client: Who?Me: And how about this trade war and his tariffs, I mean those are costing
us billions, destroying family farmers, and have caused the need for a
bailout for the farmers to the tune of some 12 billion dollars. We are
paying the cost of the tariffs in prices going up on all kinds of goods we
buy, we are paying for the bailout, and the Chinese are now spending
billions buying from Russia that they used to spend in our country. Do you
love that whole thing or just parts of that? Client: I love that he sticks it to people. Me: People like us or other people because I have seen prices rise on pretty
much everything I buy for my business thanks to his trade war which you know
means I have to stick that to clients like you by raising your prices.
Somebody has to pay for this and it always gets passed along to the little
guy. My company is too small to get anything from the tax plan they passed
which gives billions in relief to the most wealthy and giant loopholes for
the biggest companies but a teacher can't deduct a pencil. I was slaughtered
this year in taxes and all my costs went up. So, Trump definitely has stuck
it to me. It's working out good for you though?Client: I just like that he sticks it to people and tells them where to go. Me: OK, well glad we narrowed that down.
