The reason I posted that conversation...though I am considering deleting it...is that it was obvious to me, and I saw it coming, that this guy really was not paying attention at all to what Trump and the Republicans are actually doing.

I don't know if all Trump supporters are as poorly informed but I suspect they are because if they knew what was happening they would likely be furious.

All economic signs point to a big bad bubble that is about to burst and the people that will suffer will be...the people that voted for Trump out of desperation that believed his nonsense. This will be really ugly.

I will try to just give a very simple explanation of what is going on with our economy and hope that Pat or Marc or any Republican reading this understands it.

So, we have been in an economic upturn mostly thanks to Obama on the job growth side but Trump and the Republicans have stimulated the economy as well...but not in any kind of sustainable way and they know this. The tax cuts they did have greatly helped rich people get much richer and have allowed them to do all the stock buybacks they do in these situations. Plus they have thrown in stimulus spending, which they told Obama he absolutely could not do, along with the tax cuts. So, money and wealth are being generated but only for the super rich. The middle class is actually seeing pay stay the same or decrease while all of their expenses increase. So, they are actually doing worse and on the whole are taking a pay cut because their earnings can't keep up with cost increases.

Despite this their spending is up but it is spending through credit...meaning money they don't have. So, not only is their pay not increasing, their costs rising, but their debt is now rising drastically. This is a very bad sign.

While this is going on Trump is keeping his promise to skyrocket our national deficit. It has already just in 2018 rocketed up 30% and the Republicans are planning round 2 of tax breaks for the super wealthy. As our deficit skyrockets government tax revenue plummets because the Republicans basically want to wipe out all tax responsibility for the wealthy in this country.

So, this means all of the tax burden of this nation is being shifted off of giant companies and the super wealthy and onto the middle class...who are struggling to keep up with increasing costs and debt while the money they earn is stagnant.

This means that the Republicans will be able to do things they have always wanted to do. Wipe out Medicare and Medicaid. Wipe out social security. Wipe out social spending all across the board and absolutely devastate the middle class.

And when these Trump supporters that so badly wanted jobs start asking them what happened these horrible bastards are going to tell them "You can't pay your bills so you can't have any benefits. Now go away." and then they will go smoke a cigar and drink a nice scotch that are worth more than these people earn in a week.

And those jobs they so wanted...well...those are going to go away too. If you just take a peek at the closings, cutbacks, and downsizing...while at the same time doing stock buybacks...that are going on now and lined up to happen, well, people will be begin to lose their jobs, homes, and all hope.

The shareholders get richer, the richest 1% will make a killing. The workers...they are staring into an abyss. The companies will see more profit but that profit won't be shared with the workers.

While these giant companies use the resources of this country, all of the infrastructure, to make gigantic obscene profits the cost of actually maintaining these things will be expected to be taken out of the paychecks of the middle class.

The theory for these Republicans that are using the Trump presidency to cram all this through is simple...those that benefit most should contribute the least.

My client likes the bluster of Trump. The threats he makes, the nonsense he spews, the empty slogans. But he has no idea what Trump is actually doing. If you ask about specific things his answers will be "Who?", "What?", "That's fake news!"

Another person I know through business dealings that is a bright guy, voted for Trump, and likes to talk about politics when he sees me also buries his head in the sand when you talk specifics.

His take on what happened in Helsinki, which he knew and understood was appalling and would have freaked out had a Democrat done it, he created an entire fantasy around. He claimed Trump was pretending to be Putin's sex toy to fool him and it was all just a clever trick.

When I detailed all that was wrong with that the guy refused to budge and just said it has to be that Trump was playing Putin somehow by pretending to worship him.

In other words...he just chooses not to believe the facts, what is right in front of him, and prefers a fantasy over reality.

There are a certain segment of people that just want to hear somebody say nasty crap about the people they dislike. That's enough to make them stand up and cheer.

So, they will chant to build a wall and to lock her up and that the media is the enemy of the people...but when we have a real honest to goodness national emergency that should be addressed immediately...like say deadly contaminated water being pumped into people's homes because EVERY person in this country should expect that they have access to clean uncontaminated water...well do they chant about that? Nope. Does the Trump administration address that? Nope. In fact, the Trump administration instead goes on a crusade to increase the amount of toxins in our environment, to increase the amount of methane, greenhouse gases, and all kinds of pollutants into our air and water systems. To remove regulations to prevent that and prevent lawsuits that prosecute the parties responsible.

This means we will see more and more incidents of people being exposed to toxic drinking water flowing out of their faucets.

Aren't we supposed to be a first world country? We can't even get people clean drinking water and yet we have boobs in this country that want to waste money on building a wall and give tax breaks to the very people that are poisoning our water and air...while making them immune to prosecution for doing so.

Can't make America great again if you can't even drink a glass of water in this country.
