Good post, and a great memory for crappy Patriot quarterbacks, Mick, but in all honesty, I largely gave up on
professional sports about a decade or so ago. Believe me, as a kid and a young man, I lived and died with the
Boston teams. I mean, I'd get so keyed up during some games, I couldn't enjoy myself. And losses, the big
ones, really stayed with me. Eventually I thought, WTF? I'm not getting paid here, and other interests, I mean
really significant avenues to explore, captured my attention. There's so many more profoundly interesting
things to pursue as our clocks tick down. At least I think so.As to professional football, I'm hoping that most NFL fans will come to the realization that their Sunday
entertainment has often lead to many, many tragic ends for players and families alike. However, watching the
growth of even more violent entertainment spectacles like MMA, I sense that our primitive lizard brains are
too attuned to the blood lust to seek more noble endeavors. A sad commentary on our species. Peter T.
