Unfortunately, I'm like Dan and believe what he suggested is what is going to happen and that is the House will vote to impeach and the Senate will acquit. 

Well, this always stood as the reason Pelosi did not want to go through an impeachment process. I do not think it matters what the Senate does. Really, it does not matter. If they back Trump, well, that's a mark on their permanent record that they stood behind a president that tried to use a foreign power to manipulate a US election. That then becomes history and it also sets the precedent that the Republicans back the idea that is fine to appeal to a foreign government to interfere in a US election. 

Nobody is hiding nor denying that this is what Trump did, there are just two takes on it among our elected officials.

Take one is that a president should never use his office to attempt to corrupt foreign officials by pressuring them to help him manipulate a US election.

Take two is it is fine for a US president to attempt to pressure a foreign government to interfere in a US election as long as his plot to do so fails and the only time we should investigate that is if his plot actually succeeds...which has the cool catch 22 that you can't prosecute a sitting president. 

So, the lesson of take two on this is if you can do it and get away with it, you win, because you can only be investigated and not prosecuted. So, if you can get foreign officials to make up stuff to help you scam US voters...well, hooray for your team. 

That's cut and dry. In other words we just invited every foreign government and official and criminal to make us an offer to help scam the voting public. We've announced US elections are fake. We are open for business. Start the bidding. Well, hang on...I should not say we because it is not we. Obviously the Democrats and some of us that still like the idea of a democracy/constitutional republic did not invite this. It will be Republican Senators that have done this, if they vote not to impeach Trump.

USA, USA, USA, USA!!! 

I believe the Dems are failing to clearly show to the fence-sitters why the things Trump has done warrant Trump's removal. 

So, when you say "fence-sitters" who do you mean? If by fence-sitters you mean Republican Senators...well...they absolutely know what Trump did warrants and requires his removal. They don't need the Democrats to explain to them what Trump did was wrong, they damn well know it. Their position is not was it wrong, it is simply can we assist him in getting away with it. The answer to that is they certainly can. The only question is will they assist him at this point?

 Now, don't get me wrong -  to those with intelligence and integrity the things Trump has done are clear, but it is those that need to be dragged to his wrongdoings. 

Let's just face facts here...if you have paid attention to what the witnesses have said during these hearings then you would either need to be a complete moron or a Putin supporter not to understand that Trump needs to be impeached. This is why Lindsey Graham's solution to this was to say he would not listen to nor read a single word of the testimony. Ha, if you don't read it or listen to it then you don't know what happened so of course you can vote not to impeach. Then Graham if he is still around when Trump is finally gone can just say "Oh, I made a huge mistake not voting to impeach Trump at the time." and expect that everybody will just forgive him for that. 

What I've seen is that only a handful of Dems at a handful of times have hammered home the vileness of what Trump had his cohorts have done with not only this military aid in a time of war but those other things as well.

The great victory in this for elected Republicans will be to show the public that once again there is no punishment for those with money and power if they commit crimes. They will ram home the idea the justice system does not apply to the wealthy and powerful and that Nixon was right all along...

"If the president does it, it is not illegal." 

This was always the lesson the Clintons tried to drive home to Democrats, don't play by the rules, you will look weak, because Republicans don't care about rules and will ignore them. 

Hilariously, the Republicans kept pushing the Democrats to stick to the rules and watch what you say, while they ignored them and spewed nonsense and lies. The Democrats stuck to the rules and watched what they said. 

The Republicans laughed and mocked them for doing so. 

Whatever happens next is what we now need to go through as a country.
