I think Trump has to stay in the race primarily because he needs Barr as AG to destroy the Justice department and shutdown investigations into Donny and his criminal family. As soon as Trump walks out of the White House and is no longer president, look out, he suddenly becomes chargeable and if that happens this November, the cases will be fresh and they will come after him.

This is why it was so important to Trump to get Berman out at SDNY because Barr could not control what SDNY was doing and they want to shutdown all of what SDNY is looking at. Barr is Trump's best and most dangerous weapon and he loses that if he loses the presidency.

They will pull out all the stops to steal this election mostly through voter manipulation like we just saw in Kentucky, when they closed polling places so as few people as possible could vote. They dropped the number from 3700 to 200...meaning if you wanted to vote you could plan on standing in a line all day. They also, intentionally, sent out error filled mail-in ballots to screw things up for anybody that wanted to vote by mail.  Wow, amazing this all happened in the state Mitch McConnell represents when he is facing a tough reelection bid this year. What a coincidence! If they shutdown polling places in Kentucky, reduce the number of places you can vote from 3700 to 200...McConnell's chances of reelection go way, way up.

You want to know one of the things Trump loves about Covid, it is the fact that it creates an excuse to keep people away from polling places. To shut them down, to keep as many people as possible from voting. For this reason alone an explosion of Covid 19 cases becomes a wonderful thing for Trump.

Will Trump dropout? My guess is no, but he will rage and threaten behind closed doors. In terms of his ego, well, he feels if he loses to Biden he is a giant loser...because that is how he will paint this election. So, dropping out because he "no longer wants the job" is better in terms of ego than risking losing. He is frightened by the current poll numbers, which look horrible for him.

His supporters, whichever ones he has left, will be disappointed but they will just go along with the idea that Trump dropped out "because everything and everyone" was against him.

I think he stays in, and Republicans use every tool at their disposal to suppress voting in a "Hail Mary" attempt to win. The groundwork is already being laid for a raging return of Covid in the fall. They will ride out job losses and an economic crash in favor of a chance at voter suppression.

Why do you think Trump keeps promoting no masks?
