Well, I think that a couple things have to happen for things to change. One is obviously Biden needs to win the election but the other thing is in order to show people that this means anything at all you have to hold people accountable for the crimes they committed. I just think the population has had such a barrage of wrongdoing and people just get away with it that large portions of population just believe there is no justice anymore. So, they believe in nothing. They don't believe in government, they don't believe in politicians, they think the media is just yanking their chains, and so they are more and more going to resort to every man for himself thinking.

I mean Biden is all we have and he must win but my feelings on what he will do when he does are mixed. I think his primary focus and what he will base his choices on will be a "healing the country" strategy where rather than pursuing prosecution of Trump and his criminal cabal his push will be to sweep all that under the carpet so the nation can "heal and move on."

I do think he will fear that pursuing prosecution of Trump and his sleazy pals that may cause his more insane supporters to begin a campaign of violence...so he will steer away from that. Personally, I think that is the wrong move and all it will do is engender more of a "the powerful never pay a price" feeling in the population. This typically leaves them unmotivated to vote because they think nothing will change.

So, I sort of see Joe Biden playing more the role of Dr. Joe healing the nation, than Sheriff Joe rounding up the bad guys.

We seem to have been stuck in a pattern going back to Nixon. A Republican president comes in and makes a mess, then a Democrat is elected that tries to clean up that mess until another Republican is elected president and we get a brand new mess. Each time the Republican seems to be trying to make that mess even bigger so the Democrat has little chance of fixing anything.

I mean Dubya got us into a pointless no win war that had/has the potential to be endless. He also decimated our economy with that. Then Obama walks into a financial crisis, a "war on terror" and is begged right off the top to do Hank Paulson's massive Wall Street bailout and somehow manages through all that to steer the ship to safety and turn the economy around...and boom we get Donald Trump.

Who has not yet got us into a war but he has done all he can to destroy everything this country once stood for and to piss on our allies while spreading his ass cheeks for Putin. Biden won't be doing much other than rebuilding our institutions, trying to reconnect with our allies, dealing with the aftermath of a mishandled pandemic and the economic disaster Trump has unleashed, healing race relations that Trump has intentionally been building into a new Civil War, and hopefully four years from now has the country in better place. That will be what will probably take up his entire first term.

Hopefully, the people in states like Kentucky have learned something and vote out people like McConnell as well. Signs point to some of Trump's supporters getting even dumber though as we will have some Q Anon idiots getting voted into office. Who knows what horrible effect that will have.
